Toledo, Ohio, January 18, 2024 – Buckeye Broadband has ranked 173rd on the Newsweek Excellence 1000 Index. This index recognizes companies across more than 25 industries and 100 categories after assessing their commitment to best practices and financial growth while serving customers and stakeholders with a dedication to safety, sustainability, diversity, and innovation.
As Buckeye Broadband did not apply for the award and is smaller compared to other companies on the list, such as Apple, President and General Manager Geoff Shook was grateful for the recognition.
“It’s about more than just profitability... Our community is important to us, and we are committed to caring for our customers by providing them with superior products and services to keep them connected.”
- Buckeye Broadband President and General Manager, Geoff Shook -
Buckeye Broadband gives back in more ways than one. As a technology leader of Toledo, SE Michigan, and Erie County, the local company continues to invest in Fiber Internet to provide its community with the latest technology, fastest speeds, offers local sports and arts programs, and works to bridge the digital divide by increasing internet accessibility with programs that make broadband more affordable.
Outside of technology, the company believes in giving back through sponsorships, community partnerships, and donations as well as providing employees with funds and time off to spend with charities of their choice.
Following one of its mottos, “Live Here, Work Here, Give Here,” Buckeye Broadband promises to remain dedicated to the social responsibility Newsweek recognized it for. It will continue serving the communities that make up its employee and customer base as it has for 55 years.
