Requesting Support

Please Note: Requests for funding must be received 60 days prior to the funding event date.

Buckeye Broadband’s philanthropic strategy focuses on our local community. Common requests for support are for events, fundraising campaigns, educational programs, and a number of other community activities and organizations.

Though we cannot support every organization and mission, we make a conscious effort to bring your request to the table for our committee to properly review. We do ask that you please read our company’s short Funding Request Policy, to better understand our community giving before submitting your request. This will help guide you through the submission form, and will give you some direction in what we may or may not approve.

  • Due to the overwhelming number of requests, we are not able to support the following activities:

    • Golf Outings
    • School yearbook ads
    • High School proms or other events
    • Sports programs
    • Organization directory ads

In addition, we do not fund the following:

    • Capital Funding Requests
    • Individuals, including funding for education, health care, or travel to or attendance at conferences
    • For-profit institutions
    • Activities for the advancement of a particular religious persuasion or for religious organizations for their religious purposes.
    • Political campaigns, political activities, or lobbying
    • Endowment funds
    • On-going school operating funds
    • Third party fundraising efforts
  • Buckeye Broadband’s philanthropic strategy focuses on education, economic development, health and human services, and the arts in our area. Beyond that, we work to encompass important goals that will bring accessibility, diversity and inclusion, and investment in local youth, to the forefront of our philanthropic efforts.

As a general rule, Buckeye Broadband considers requests from organizations that have received 501(c) (3) tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service and which are not classified as private foundations under the Internal Revenue Code 509.

To be considered, you must complete the online application.

Requests by email will be required to fill out the digital submission form above, in order to be considered. No phone calls please. All submissions must be reviewed and approved by our Buckeye Broadband Contribution Committee.

Giving decisions are made by Buckeye Broadband’s Contribution Committee at monthly meetings. Requests must be received in the 60 days prior to your “funding request date”. Please note that organizations granted funding will not be considered for any additional requests until the following calendar year.

Applications without a completed application may not be considered until all material is provided. Additional information may be requested, such as past, current and future financial or budgetary information, donor information, or other pertinent material. All committee reviews and decisions will be sent by email.

All contributions are subject to a post-program review and/or evaluation, at the discretion of Buckeye Broadband. Questions can be directed to Kim Finch, Manager of Community Engagement and Events at communityrelations@buckeyebroadband.com.
