What You Need to Know About New Summer Shows!

Until a few years ago, a Toledo summer brought the excitement of watching cable TV show Breaking Bad (2008 – 2013). Breaking Bad, hailed as one of the greatest shows of all time by multiple news outlets, followed a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer that turns to the criminal world and drug selling to secure his family’s future. Yes, we still miss it.

Even more streaming and cable TV options are available today,  so it becomes often tedious to find those potential gems. Below are a few picks to raise the quality quotient of your summer entertainment:

The Emmy Award winning show, which has officially passed the timeline of the preceding book series, is set to ablaze your cable TV connection this July.

You know the seasonal drill: In the mythical continent of Westeros, several powerful families fight for control of the Seven Kingdoms. As conflict erupts in the kingdoms of men, an ancient enemy rises once again to threaten them all. As The Starks would say: Winter is Coming – and it is getting closer than ever.

I cannot wait to see Daenerys cross the Narrow Sea in Game of Thrones this season.

All Toledo residents and its adjoining regions of Ottawa Hills, Oregon, Sylvania, and Perrysburg can catch up before the premiere with premium digital and cable TV services HERE!

The show created by Jenji Kohan is based on real-life Piper Kerman’s memoir about her experience in a minimum-security federal prison. Consistently nominated for Emmy awards, this show has binge-worthy written all over it.

SEASON 1    :           Premiered May 21, 2017 (Catch up On Demand!)

Twin Peaks picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town are stunned when their homecoming queen is murdered. Even though the original series only ran for 2 seasons in 1990-1991, it gained a cult following that caused it to end up on many lists of the greatest television dramas of all time.

The new Showtime series is an 18 episode limited series, so you’ll want to catch it this summer. Plus, if you happen to have Express TV Powered by TiVo, you can watch the original cult classic from the 90s on Netflix and catch up with the new series On Demand – all on one platform!
